Tutor Spotlights
Meet Paul, November 2025 Tutor of the Month
Spotlight on Paul
Paul likes to spend time hiking with his two giant labradors. His favorite spot is Maui, Hawaii – a true paradise!
Congratulations to Paul Lacy, November 2025 Tutor of the Month!
Paul was matched with student Ming last spring, and they kicked off their lessons by discussing how to speak with doctors, what urgent care is for and how to navigate NJ Transit. When Ming and his family recently moved to Hillsborough, Paul helped him understand the process for hiring movers, updating household accounts and introducing himself and his family to new neighbors. When Paul explained to Ming that we “mow” the grass but don’t “mow” our hair, we are reminded that laughter is often a big part of the tutor/student relationship!

Memorable LVSC Moment: Tutoring and coaching my student on how to break the ice with his new neighbors and discussions around suburban habits, including “grass farming.”
