Thirty years ago, LVSC helped Agnes’ mother learn English. Now, Agnes is paying that forward.

Congratulations to Agnes Michalek, August 2026 Tutor of the Month! 

LVSC Journey: I became an LVSC volunteer in August of 2025.

Agnes (right) tutors Daniela at the Whole Foods food court -- a fun, casual learning environment.What motivated you to become an LVSC volunteer? Thirty years ago, my mom was a student in this very program. I remember how she would meet with her tutor at the Bridgewater library. She still has fond memories and is grateful for her tutor to this day.

Proud LVSC Moment:  Daniela shared that she corrected the assigned translator at her son’s doctor’s appointment. Way to go Daniela!!!

Day Job: Executive assistant at ArtYard. My previous career was in Public Health. I feel excited to be working in the art field now because I’m passionate about the intersection of art and health.

Hobbies:  Traveling, herbalism and trying new things.

Favorite Food: Nutella - straight from the jar, with a spoon.
