Spotlight on Alfreda
Alfreda is a life-long learner who enjoys helping others learn English and achieve life goals.
LVSC Journey: I received my certificate as a volunteer tutor in 2019. It has been an exciting journey learning from the students about their culture, foods, career aspirations, and desiring a better life for their family.
Best LVSC Moment: Being able to help people realize that all things are possible by working hard, being committed, and determined not to give up on your goals. It is my pleasure to be able to give back to my community and help others in any way that I can, through patience and understanding.
Day Job: I work full-time at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey where I assist a diverse population of library users, staff, and faculty in the Library of Science & Medicine and the Math Physics Library. I also promote New Brunswick Libraries Resources at New Student Orientation Sessions, assist librarians, and library leadership in moving the library forward in reaching their goals.
Favorite Food: I love making healthy new smoothies to drink.
Hobbies: I like to decorate my home and shop for different plants and flowers.
Favorite Quote: “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” -My Mother.
