Tutor Spotlights
Meet Pam, 2025 Tutor of the Year
Spotlight on Pam
Like many of our tutors, Pam came to LVSC when she found herself an empty nester.
Congratulations to Pam Lavroff, LVSC's 2025 Tutor of the Year!
She immediately made a significant impact on this group of students. Aside from teaching them the basics of English with patience and compassion she makes learning English fun by using games and interactive activities.
On one occasion the Somerville Library was going to be closed for an in-service day on the evening that the group usually meets. Pam had an exciting idea. She would treat the group to dinner in Somerville so that they could practice ordering and conversing in English. There was one rule: only English during dinner.
The evening was a huge success but the students felt bad that Pam treated them to dinner so they insisted they go out again, but this time the students would treat the tutor. Pam agreed with the same rule: only English during dinner.
The hardest thing in my life for me is speaking in front of many people. It’s my small gift to dedicate a few words to my beloved teacher Pam. Congratulations on such a well-deserved recognition. Thank you for everything. -LVSC student, Maribel
Pam is LVSC’s tutor of the year because her impact on her students is clear. They love their teacher and love their class. They have created a safe and happy space to learn and grow together.
