Improving literacy can make a big difference in someone’s life. And if tutoring isn’t right for you, there are other ways to help LVSC. Whatever your skill set, we have a role for you.
LVSC's success depends on many talented and dedicated volunteers who assist our small staff in delivering programs and running our organization. Volunteer Opportunities
Fundraising and Events Volunteer
Do you like planning and hosting parties? The LVSC community gets together several times a year to celebrate successes, share common experiences, and raise funds to keep our programs thriving. Our various Events Committees plan the Garden of Literacy Brunch & Baskets, Golf Fore Literacy and Annual Meeting & Recognition Event. We'd love your help with planning and running these events.
Time Commitment: 1 to 15 hours, depending on the event and your availability.
Marketing/Outreach Volunteer
Improving literacy in Somerset County requires several key ingredients - students who want to learn; volunteers who want to be tutors; and generous supporters who fund our programs. If you have experience in Marketing, Outreach or Social Media, we'd be excited to hear from you.
Time Commitment: 1 to 15 hours, depending on the project and your availability.

We have many ad hoc projects and could benefit from your expertise. For example, we are always looking for help with:
