Volunteer Spotlight on Chelsea
Meet the talented Chelsea, one of our youngest volunteers.
Chelsea has been volunteering at and attending LVSC events for many years! Now a freshman in college, she spent her winter break helping with projects in the LVSC office.
LVSC Journey: I first started volunteering at LVSC in my freshman year of high school. My dad, Walter, was a tutor at the time and still is. And he would encourage my brother and I to volunteer at LVSC’s fundraising events. My most proud LVSC moment was creating the welcome video for new LVSC tutors using a few video editing skills I’ve acquired throughout the years. {View the Video}
Memorable LVSC Moment: My most inspiring LVSC moment was hearing the stories of ESL students who speak at LVSC’s fundraising events, where they talk about the challenges they’ve overcome and share their gratitude with the organization.
Day Job: I am currently a Freshman at Liberty University studying Law and Policy.

Hobbies: Watching documentaries, dancing, and reading.
Favorite Book: Salt to the Sea, by Ruta Sepetys, a heart-wrenching historical fiction about a group of refugees during World War II escaping Germany on the Wilhelm Gustloff ship, which ultimately sank.
R&R Spot: My university’s pool at the gym.
