Student Spotlights

David is from Costa Rica and has been living in the United States for three years. He began studying English with LVSC in 2022 during Saturday morning ESL classes on Zoom. He then was matched with his tutor Kala.

At first it was very difficult for me to adapt to many things due to my little knowledge of the English language, but since I came to these classes many things have changed. I have put them into practice at work and in life -- how to go to a supermarket or a restaurant or when using public transport. -David

David is very sincere in his effort to learn English and has made tremendous progress. He has a new job where his colleagues and bosses do not speak Spanish, so he has put into practice what he has been learning during his English lessons. 

As a student I feel very grateful to this program that has helped me grow as a person in this country. It motivates me to keep going. My wife also takes classes and it has helped her to develop as a better person in the United States. -David

David is an excellent student who is very punctual in his attendance and always does his homework. 

David's conversational skills have improved so much that his supervisor and colleagues noticed and complimented him on it. -Tutor Kala

In his free time, David likes to work out at the gym and likes to go on day trips to New York City. According to tutor Kala, one of the sweetest things about him is that he loves his wife very much!
