Learn more about Rachel:
LVSC Journey: I have always been an advocate for literacy, as literacy not only empowers people to navigate daily life more confidently but it also opens educational and employment opportunities, improves quality of life, and economic stability. However, it was not until speaking with some local teachers who expressed the difficulty of communicating with their students’ parents who are unable to read report cards, or other written correspondence, that I realized how significant this problem is in my own community and looked for a way to get involved.
Day Job: I am an attorney at a law firm in Somerset County, specializing in all aspects of litigation.
Favorite Quote: “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if only one remembers to turn on the light.” -Albus Dumbledore/J.K. Rowling
Passions & Pastimes: I love to travel, spend time with my friends and family, and root for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Favorite Book: As you can see by my favorite quote, I love all the Harry Potter books. I also recommend to everyone I can The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah.
R&R Spot: Saint Maarten. I am lucky enough to go with my entire family every Christmas and it the perfect place for relaxation and family bonding.
