Board Member Spotlights

Cathy has 20+ years’ business experience as a technology leader in the pharmaceutical industry. Her current role is with Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine where she is Head of Technology-Cardiovascular. She has experience working with cross-functional teams to develop and execute digital strategies to advance business success. She has also held various roles in Information Technology (IT) working with Compliance, Procurement, and Planning. 

Cathy holds an M.B.A from NYU Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Sociology from New York University.  She is an APICS certified supply chain professional, and recently completed BoardConnect, a program offered by NonProfit Connect which trains volunteers to serve on non-profit boards. Cathy has a long history of community service and connects to the LVSC mission through her own parents’ immigration experience.

Cathy and her husband, Kyle, live in Hillsborough, NJ, with their two children.

LVSC Journey: I am motivated by the mission of LVSC to promote literacy within our community and equip adults with essential life skills. Thinking about how my own parents immigrated to the United States, I know the resources, services, and opportunities LVSC provides is life changing for these families.

Day Job: My team and I support the Cardiovascular business with technology solutions to enable sales and marketing strategies and tactics.  We work to deliver solutions that support patients and families on their journey and address the #1 cause of death -- heart disease -- in the United States.

Favorite Food: My mom’s Vietnamese egg rolls, french fries, and spaghetti.

Passions & Pastimes:  Going to live music concerts (hip hop and pop music), running outside, and geocaching with the family.

Favorite Book: I like reading memoirs – Becoming Michelle Obama and Matthew Perry are two I recently read. 

R&R Spot: I like to go to spas and any warm place that has a pool and a beach next to each other. Pool for me and beach for the family. We would really like to visit Vietnam one day soon.
