Student Spotlights

Journey: I was born in Brazil. I came to the US in June 2019.

Biggest surprise when arriving in the USA: I was positively surprised to see how kind people are and the cultural diversity. We can know and learn a lot about other countries without even having visited, through the people, the food, the lifestyle, etc.

Experience using skills learned at LVSC: When I went to the restaurant, the waiter could understand everything I said (dish, steak doneness, etc), as we learned in the conversation group. Also, I am more confident speaking to others, seeing teachers and making friends.

Favorite food: Pasta with Alfredo sauce.

Hobbies: Listen to music, relax and enjoy nature, and learn new things.

 Favorite book: Something Blue by Emily Giffin

Favorite movie: La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful)

R&R spot: The beach at sunrise (sound of the sea, feeling the sand on my feet and the amazing view).
